Here’s tip you won’t hear often from me.
Push yourself.
After my stroke I was totally paralyzed on the right side – face, throat, arm, hand, fingers. leg, foot, toes. I could not even read a newspaper or swallow anything but thick liquids.
Believe me you haven’t lived until you’ve had apple juice, ice tea or strained squash the consistency of motor oil. Mmmm yumm.
But I slowly got better. I can’t tell you how good that hospital food tasted once I could eat it.
I learned to walk by throwing my right leg around with my hip. I had to “walk” 200 feet before they’d let me go without those annoying white support hose (prevents blood clots). So I was motivated.
Eating was a real challenge. My right arm was no help; it just laid there like a flat tire on an abandoned tractor. Might be useful someday, maybe, but always in the way now. Everything was about the left hand, left arm, left leg. And making them stronger and more proficient.
After 30 days I could move my the middle finger on my right hand. I could only move it about a quarter of an inch. Certainly not enough to signal anyone.
OK, I tell you all this so you’ll understand the investment I have in using my left side. Eating Chinese food, washing yourself, opening doors, driving the car, walking down a curb it all requires an off side dominance you must learn and improve. Constantly improve.
This is the road to stroke survival.
Unfortunately, this is NOT the road to my stroke recovery or my miracle healing.
For that you must push yourself.
I am constantly fighting between living with and improving my survival skills and a full stroke rehabilitation.
Because full rehab requires cherry pie in the lap and Barbequed Short Ribs on you new Tommy Bahama linen shirt. Rude, crude and in public for the world to see.
If you don’t use your good side, you’ll lose your good side.
Just like everything in life.
If you do not develop trust that the Creative Power of the Universe will open the doors, provide the means, make safe your path and guide your way…then, you will lose the Good side of life. You will forever think that you, not God, are responsible for your Good. That is a terrible loss.
Of course, trust is built with experience and that means tests and difficulties. Unless you’ve hit a brick wall God’s help may go unnoticed.
I cannot help but notice God’s help in my recovery. Without Divine intervention I’m toast.
In fact, yesterday I took Diane to lunch at our favorite oyster bar. Without thinking I walked up the three steps without holding the railing. That was a first.
But the really amazing thing was I took the last step with my right leg first. Using my weakened right leg to balance and pull me up.
Wow!!! I can’t tell you what a thrill that was.
You have to push yourself! Risk making a fool of yourself. Push yourself to do more than you think you can. Go out on a limb. Risk. Try. Do. Constantly push yourself.
And pretty soon you’ll you do thing that surprise and delight you. No effort goes unrewarded.
And they said I’d lie in bed and drool my life away.
Nuts to that.

P.S. Obviously I didn’t include that mental exercise I discovered. The one that doubled my energy, increased my stamina and allowed me to regain cognitive abilities the doctors said were gone forever. And honestly, I’m not convinced you’re ready for this exercise. This is Quantum Selling material. You have to have an open mind to the possibility of what you cannot see, touch or feel. It be worse to tell you if you just dismiss it as mumbo jumbo.
I’m serious about this.

whooosh ! that really came at me from THE UNIVERSE….OK, I hear it loud and clear, thank you ! I am a brand new subscriber to your newsletter, etc, and thank goodness I received this one. I watched my dad suffer the after effects of a serious stroke, and NOT recover as well as he should have, in my opinion, because he believed the nonsense about no longer being able to do many of the activities he used to enjoy. He passed away in 2007, but it made me angry and frustrated that he just swallowed whole the doctors’ commentary about his “permanently diminished” abilities. It became a self-fulfilling prophecy in the end.
I am personally so blessed with good health, intellect and more abilities than I can probably use, but I have allowed myself to sink into a depression based on nonsense, just like my Dad, and it is time I made some very FAST and serious changes. Bring it on….please !!

Well Tom, I think you still have it! You are a wonderful story teller and have always had a way with words. I cannot believe how much time has passed since I first came across your (and Pen’s) work. You helped me get going on MY journey which, unfortunately, did not go the QS path the way it worked for you. However, I still use many of the things I learned from you and believe it or not, my mother is still around (almost 6 years on dialysis) and is actually doing much MUCH better. I have passed on your books to friends and family for years and I’ve insisted that they start out with your “stuff” when they are finally ready to find themselves and the real reasons things don’t happen the way they thought it should. I’m working in the higher realms now and even though I’m not rolling in money, I’m happy and delighted to be where I am today. Money for me was never very important and since I have very few uses for it, I don’t have a lot of it. However (grin) it does come whenever I need it and that is thanks to you and QS and of course Diane, Pen and even Alex.
I hope this helps with your “feedback” and maybe start a few more thinking outside of the box!

And I have to say this – Quantum Selling has changed my life! And I have not even applied it to money or selling yet!! In May when I had Bells Palsy – I amazed everyone, including my doctor, in my ability to heal it so quickly. It was all Quantum Selling!!!

I believe you, Tom. When you say to push yourself, it reminds me of the scene in the movie, “Push,” where the teacher tells Precious to, “Push yourself.” There’s push and then there’s flow. When you push yourself to be, do, have what you want, often you find yourself in the flow as a result

You just wrote *exactly* what a lot of people need to hear. We need to hear it in all areas of our lives, not just our health (although that’s a big one for many!)
But I think for you, you pushed yourself because you believed you could. You believed there was a bigger part of yourself connected to a bigger part of the universe that could do anything. Because you had done it in so many other areas of your life, you trusted that you could push through this.
And you’re continuing to do so and be an inspiration to the rest of us. (There’s a great book in there, you know.

I have seen you constantly in the portal together with Pen, PUSHING me forward in my carrier. I have felt your love and I am sure it will stay with me forever. And YES! I have learned that I have to PUSH myself because every positive step we take to move forward there is a negative energy resisting against us but we are all equiped with Divine Love which helps us overcome any negative energy but we have to ask, we have to push. Thanks for your being, for your love, presence and essence.

Great comment! I talked to a nurse for a stem cell research pgm today. She was asking if I’ve had any changes in the last 2 mos. But she didn’t let me answer. She immediately said, “Of course you haven’t you had the stroke longer ago than 6 months.”
They believe their own BS.

My diabetes started with a BS 367. And A1c around 7. The last test at Doctors office was 108 and 5.75
Only 2 drugs Jenuvia 100 mg and Lisinipril 20 mg (i know that’ for BP, but protects the kidney)
The real trick are the supplements an the water.

Yep, I think a lot of times people heal “in-spite” of their doctors expert ideas and efforts.

Much there is no mention of the existence. This saying evidently resonates with the assertion that God is of a formless substance and yet produce touchable substances. Today we have laptops, Cellphones ,computers, gadgets for internet usage. etc. All these were initially formed from a formless substance which , all of us will agree that its a human ENIGMA, that unlitmately led to the realisation of all the prdocuction of all the gadgets and things we aspire to have and thus we are, today , able to talk and discuss whilst seeing each other across the seas and across different continents.

I’m not sure how to email you but I’m looking for help/suggestions. My mom had a severe stroke in April and has Broca’s aphasia. She has been doing intense rehab since May but her time is almost up. She cannot drive and I work and her husband works. So she will be stuck home alone all day with no way to leave the house. The “social worker” at her day therapy place basically told us we are SOL because my mom is not a senior – she just turned 63 and will NOT go to “adult day care.” Do you have any suggestions? She has a hard time spelling, typing, writing, speaking so obviously her options are limited. Please email me at stlfarr at yahoo dot com. thank you.
